Street pianos are found in cities worldwide, including London, Boston, New York, Seattle, Denver; and now New Haven!
And Wooster Square is a wonderful area to start this project. The area has a rich arts history; in fact, both the Neighborhood Music School and New Haven Ballet began in Wooster Square. New Haven residents as well as the many visitors to Wooster Square from out of town will be energized by the vibrancy of our local community.
The information and photos below come from Montreal and from recent contact with the family that coordinates the program in Montreal. But soon we will be able to share our own photos from Wooster Square!

Piano covers cost approximately $600 (Canadian, before tax and delivery). Grommets along the bottom allow cables to securely hold the cover in place. The covers are made from a thick vinyl (PVC Sampson) that is fire retardant certified and ultraviolet resistant rated equal or greater than 1000 hours.
Secured boxes hold the cover when the cover is not in use
